Post-Conviction and Habeas Corpus Relief
After all your appeals have been exhausted, you can still seek relief under Tennessee law in the form of a post-conviction petition, a writ of habeas corpus, or a writ of coram nobis.
Both are remedies that seek to correct wrongs that happened at the trial level. Even if you entered a plea of guilty, it is sometimes possible to obtain further relief.
A post-conviction petition is proper if your constitutional rights were violated at the trial or appellate level (as in the case of innefective assistance of counsel) .A habeas corpus petition asserts that there is no valid reason to keep you incarcerated. A coram nobis petition is appropriate when new facts have been discovered after a case has concluded.
If you feel you or a loved one are entitled to relief, feel free to contact us to further discuss the facts surrounding the case.
