Petition to Suspend Sentence

In Tennessee, you have the statutory right to request that the court suspend your sentence. According to Tenn. Code Ann. Sec. 40-35-40(c), you may request that the court modify your sentence no more than every two months.

If you have a friend or loved one currently incarcerated, we can assist you in attempting to get his or her sentence suspended. We have filed and successfully prosecuted dozens of petitions to suspend sentence, and look forward to helping you with your situation.

  • any case numbers you have in your possession
  • the name of the person incarcerated, and where they are incarcerated
  • the crimes with which they have been convicted
  • his or her last court date
