Parole Board Representation
When sentenced to a term of incarceration, one is usually eligible for parole (very few crimes are parole in-eligible).
In Tennessee, if you are a first time offender, or a Range I standard offender, you are first eligible for parole after serving 30% of your sentence. Interestingly, in Tennessee, 30% is 72 days for each year of your sentence (for example, if it is a three year sentence, you are eligible to see the parole board in 216 days).
If you are beyond the Range I classification, which means, in simple terms, you have more than two prior felonies similar in class to your most recent conviction, the parole percentages increase.
Even then, you can be paroled. It is easier to get paroled with counsel, and to avoid having your parole revoked with solid representation.
